Roofing Today spoke to Blocksil Coatings about applying graphene to their corrosion resistant coating.  Here is a snippet from their article (dated September 2020).  See the full article at Roofing Todays website on page 11.

Blocksil’s idea to use our graphene within their corrosion resistant roof coating has taken everyone forward in terms of coating technology.

Andy Gent, Commercial Director at AGM, has worked with Blocksil from the beginning of the project and said:

We believe it is time the industry moved into the 21st Century and away from older, less efficient coatings and we’re determined to help that happen

Chris Knowles, Chief Technical Officer at Blocksil commented:
QDX graphene detail spray

Applied Graphene Materials, the producer of speciality graphene additives, is delighted to announce that INFINITY WAX, a leading innovator in car care products, will launch the ground-breaking QDX Graphene Detailing Spray during Q4 2020. Detailing sprays are used to elevate shine and enable car owners to wipe away dirt in a far more straightforward manner.

The detailing spray polish that will be available to global retailers is the result of an extensive product development and rigorous third-party testing programme which has produced a formulation and system that delivers industry-leading performance.

When launched, the product which is enhanced with AGM’s market-leading Genable® graphene dispersions will be available to car owners of all types representing yet another significant milestone achieved by the Company.

“We have seen growing interest from the Car Care sector for graphene nanoplatelet dispersions to take product innovation to a new and exciting performance level. The QDX Graphene Detailing product is a great step forward for Infinity Wax and a major milestone in this space for AGM. It further validates the ease-of-use and outstanding utility of the graphene nanoplatelet dispersions we offer. Selecting the correct form of dispersion as the optimum delivery system for nanoplatelet materials is key to successful product formulating.

Integration of our products into a new sector further demonstrates that well-dispersed graphene materials can be introduced into existing formulated systems to create new, higher performance products that build on the remarkable attributes of our graphene nanoplatelets. I am particularly excited to see this innovation come to market with Infinity Wax as our lead customer in this space and look forward to seeing volumes grow as the product is adopted by the public.

Adrian Potts, Chief Executive Officer of AGM, said:

The team at Infinity Wax is excited to launch the first graphene-enhanced product in our retail range, QDX Graphene. It builds on the success of our existing range of detailing sprays and with the Genable® graphene dispersions supplied by AGM we can take the performance of the products to the next level. It is a highly powerful spray product with industry-leading performance that is incredibly easy to use. We would like to thank all at AGM for their invaluable support and assistance during this project and look forward to building Genable® into other product formulations.

SAE International, the global community of 200,000 automotive and aerospace engineers, hosted a virtual conference, WCX Digital Summit, on 16-18 June 2020.

As a guest speaker with The Graphene Council, Adrian Potts CEO, of Applied Graphene Materials gave a presentation titled ‘Graphene for Automotive Applications – Lighter, Stronger, Better

Dr. Potts talks about how to turn the remarkable performance of graphene into reality. Having the application technology to formulate a graphene-based dispersion correctly can make great use of the material’s advantages. The combination of a deep engagement with the end customer, understanding of their objectives, and AGM’s customized graphene dispersion solutions is delivering unique materials performance gains in a number of relevant areas to the automotive industry.

AGM are also leading the way in regulatory matters for use in nano-materials and have an impressive collection of data to support the end user, with practical ‘how-to’ knowledge that enables easy use of graphene.

This session highlighted the different ways graphene can be used to enhance performance in automotive applications.

Agreement significantly strengthens AGM’s route into the coatings and polymers markets in the UK, Germany, Spain, France, Portugal and Scandinavia.

Applied Graphene Materials is delighted to announce it has signed a distribution agreement with leading European chemical distributor Arpadis Benelux NV (Headquarters Antwerp, Belgium). The agreement strengthens AGM’s supply position across many of Europe’s largest coatings and polymers markets, providing direct routes into these market sectors across the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, France, Portugal and Scandinavia.

Arpadis works with major global chemicals producers and SMEs, helping manufacturers meet their environmental responsibilities by seeking alternative products and delivering more efficient supply chains. It has a strong focus on products aligned with the coatings, polyurethanes, inks, polymers, aerospace and textiles markets.

The agreement in place between AGM and Arpadis Benelux NV will see the two companies collaborating on customer opportunities and introduce AGM’s proprietary Genable® graphene dispersions technology into the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, France, Portugal and Scandinavia coatings and polymers markets. The agreement is exclusive in all regions apart from the United Kingdom, where the agreement is non-exclusive to allow for AGM’s UK sales team to further strengthen existing relationships and develop the strong pipeline of existing sales opportunities directly.

In addition to its own commercial hubs in the U.K. and the United States, AGM now has distribution agreements with local expert chemicals and coatings distributors in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Germany, Spain, France, Portugal, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, Greece, Italy, South Africa, Scandinavia and Japan ensuring complete coverage in markets with detailed understanding and appreciation of graphene’s potential.

Adrian Potts, AGM CEO commented:

I am delighted to announce this latest distribution agreement with Arpadis, who are well-known and highly respected by those organisations purchasing specialty chemicals in our target sector markets in Europe.
Following agreements signed over the last month with Arpadis in Europe, Maroon Group in the U.S.A and Will & Co in the Benelux region, AGM has substantially increased its reach and global sales network with over 60 people now focused on selling our products into markets across the globe.

We now have the ability to drive direct commercial discussions with potential customers including sector leaders and household names across the world, and we look forward to demonstrating further commercial momentum for AGM.

Shane Phoenix, Managing Director, Arpadis commented:

“Arpadis is delighted to be chosen as a distributor in the quest to further develop the exciting potential of graphene technology within the various sectors we operate. We will embed it with our existing portfolio and our teams across Europe are looking forward to supporting Applied Graphene Materials with this endeavour.”
