WE ARE GRAPHENE.

During November 10th to 12th 2020, The Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE®) hosted the virtual Graphene Leadership Summit 2020 with the aim to bring together industry leaders to try to answer some of the key questions about graphene.

Adrian Potts, CEO at AGM presented on “The Need for Dispersion and the Science Behind It” giving an insight in to the necessity for high quality dispersion to ensure the end users are able to realise the transformative benefits of graphene nanoplatelets.

About SAMPE®

The Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE®) is a global professional member society that provides enhanced educational opportunities, by delivering information on new and advanced materials and processing technology. SAMPE provides growth and educational opportunities via conferences, exhibitions, technical forums, and publications. As the only technical society encompassing all fields of endeavour in materials and processes, SAMPE provides a unique and valuable forum for scientists, engineers, and academics. SAMPE North America is a regional subsidiary of SAMPE that serves Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Proactive, one of the world’s fastest-growing financial media portals, hosted an exciting virtual event to enable potential investors to meet the people behind Applied Graphene Materials plc.

The Proactive Investors One2One Investor Forum took place on Thursday, November 12th 2020 and gave AGM’s Chief Executive, Adrian Potts, the opportunity to introduce Applied Graphene Materials Ltd to the investor community, enabling the attendees to learn more about the company and to participate in a question and answer session with Adrian.

In a time of cancelled exhibitions European Coatings have set up a virtual ‘suppliers hub’ allowing access to video presentations about innovations of raw material.

Applied Graphene Materials used the presentation Lynn Chikosha delivered last year at European Coatings Show titled ‘novel, non-metal graphene nanoplatelet hybrid anti-corrosive system’.  This paper will discuss the extension of use of AGM’s graphene nanoplatelets into C4 and C5 type environments, benchmarking against zinc rich systems.  The objectives are:

  • Can graphene give significant uplifts in corrosion resistance when applied direct to substrates in C4/C5 environments.
  • Can performance of zinc rich systems be further extended by using a graphene enhanced tie-coat layer?

The full video presentation and results can be found by signing up on the European Coatings website.  Alternatively, you can download the presentation from our Knowledge Hub

SAE International, the global community of 200,000 automotive and aerospace engineers, hosted a virtual conference, WCX Digital Summit, on 16-18 June 2020.

As a guest speaker with The Graphene Council, AGMs CEO, Adrian Potts gave a presentation titled ‘Graphene for Automotive Applications – Lighter, Stronger, Better

Adrain talks about how to turn the remarkable performance of graphene into reality. Having the application technology to formulate a graphene-based dispersion correctly enables the successful use of the material’s properties. The combination of a deep engagement with the end customer, understanding of their objectives, enable AGM to offer graphene dispersions that deliver unique material performance gains in a number of areas for the automotive industry.

AGM are also leading the way in regulatory matters for use in nano-materials and have an impressive collection of data to support the end user, with practical ‘how-to’ knowledge that enables easy use of graphene.

The presentation highlighted the different ways graphene can be used to enhance performance in automotive applications.

  • Graphene in Composites – Lighter & Tougher
  • Graphene in Thermal applications – Lighter & Better
  • Graphene in Coatings – Better & Longer lasting

Applications & Industries
